The challenge & our solution

The Netherlands faces a growing shortage of public charging infrastructure.

The problem

  • Long waiting times at public charging stations
  • Private chargers sit unused 80% of the time
  • Scarce parking spots with charging options
  • EV drivers must detour for available points

The solution

  • Share your charger when you're not using it
  • Rent out your parking spot to other EV drivers too
  • Find available charging points nearby instantly
  • Earn passive income with your own infrastructure

How does it work?

1

Create an account

Download the app and register within minutes.

2

Search or offer

Find charging points or make your own charger available.

3

Charge & earn

Charge your EV or receive payment when others charge.

The app

How the app works

You're in control: of your times, of who charges at your place and of your price.

You set your own times

You decide on which days and at what times your charger is available. Outside those times, nobody can book.

You choose who charges

Every request comes to you first. You see the driver's profile and reviews and decide for yourself whether to accept or decline.

You set your price

You set your own price per kWh. On top of that, a fixed start fee of €0.75 applies per charging session, which you can't change. The driver sees the price up front, so there are no surprises afterwards.

  1. 1Add your charger in the app
  2. 2Set times and price
  3. 3Review requests based on reviews
  4. 4Accept and earn

Find a charger nearby

The map shows which chargers near you are available, with the price the owner has set.

Request a time slot

Pick a free time slot and send your request. The owner checks your profile and reviews and decides whether to accept it. As soon as they do, you'll see it in the app.

Charge, pay and review

You charge at the agreed time and pay securely through the app. Afterwards you review each other, so together you build trust.

  1. 1Find a charger
  2. 2Request a time slot
  3. 3Accepted by the owner
  4. 4Charge and leave a review

Everything through the app

Availability, requests, prices and payments: you manage it all in the app, wherever you are.

Your charger stays private

You don't need to make your charger public. The app connects directly to your charger, and only drivers you accept can charge.

Safe and secure

Your data and payments are secured in the app. Profiles are verified and payments run safely via Wero.

Safe and reliable

Sharing only works when you can trust each other. That's why we build ShareCharge on a foundation of security.

Secure payments via Wero

All payments run through Wero, formerly known as iDEAL. ShareCharge never touches your money, transactions are encrypted and protected.

Verified profiles

Every account is verified, and users and providers rate each other with reviews. So you always know who you're dealing with before you charge or rent out.

Carefully protected

We develop ShareCharge with safety in mind and are working on additional protection, so that both providers and users can share with peace of mind.

Directly connected to your charging point

Our software communicates directly with your charging point. You don't need to set it to public yourself and manually load data into an app, ShareCharge registers everything automatically. Your charging point stays private, and as a provider you control everything remotely.

Our mission

ShareCharge makes sharing private charging points and parking spaces simple, safe and accessible for everyone. We believe the switch to electric driving happens faster and more smoothly when charging and parking infrastructure is used more intelligently.

0%of the time private chargers sit unused
0M+electric cars in the Netherlands in 2025
0%less CO₂ per km compared to petrol

Smarter use

Private chargers and parking spaces often sit unused. We bring supply and demand together so existing infrastructure is used optimally.

Stimulating local energy

By charging locally at private owners, we stimulate the use of solar energy and make neighbourhoods less dependent on the overloaded power grid.

Connecting communities

ShareCharge connects neighbours, EV drivers and owners. We create a community of people who together contribute to a more sustainable future.

Creating win-win-win

EV drivers easily find charging points and parking spaces, owners earn passive income, and together we reduce the pressure on public facilities.

The network is growing
